The Coconino Board of Supervisors recently approved modifications to their Wildfire Defense Ordinance, to better align with the rules and regulations of regional partners, such as the U.S. Forest Service.

The changes place more emphasis on preparedness measures, such as creating defensible space, and will promote better public education about wildfire preparedness, and fire restrictions.
