BLM to conduct prescribed burns in Yavapai County

February 13, 2024

The Bureau of Land Management has planned prescribed burns at two sites in Yavapai County for this month.

Crews will be burning piles of juniper that was cut to open up natural grasslands, benefitting wildlife corridors and foraging opportunities; and reducing fuel loads and wildfire danger for nearby communities.

Burns will take place across 50 acres about three miles east of Skull Valley; and 30 acres about a mile south of Yarnell; with specific work days to be determined based on weather conditions.
