BLM to conduct pile burns within Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument

January 29, 2024

The Bureau of Land Management will be conducting pile burns northwest of the Grand Canyon some time between now and Thursday. The piled vegetation was cut as part of a project to reduce the risk of uncontrolled wildfires within the Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument, by creating a fuel break along BLM roads in the Mount Trumbull area. Officials expect operations to last for a day or two.
