YCSO finds elderly Williamson Valley woman who wandered from home

February 7, 2024

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies located an elderly Williamson Valley resident early Monday after she reportedly wandered away from her home in the middle of the night.

YCSO says the 79-year-old woman suffers from dementia and other health issues, and left her home around midnight. Her son noticed her missing a few minutes later, and called 911. Responding deputies searched the neighborhood and deployed a drone; and they were able to quickly locate her about a mile away.

The woman was cold and confused, but otherwise in good condition, and she was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
