The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors approved the expansion of existing “No Parking” zones along Red Rock Crossing and Chavez Ranch Roads, and Earl Drive in the Sedona area on Wednesday.

The Public Works department requested the expansion, saying the Crescent Moon Ranch picnic site has become more popular in recent years, and since the area has limited parking, visitors have been parking along the shoulders of Red Rock Crossing and Earl Drive, creating safety issues and concerns from first responders, and causing a nuisance for nearby residents.

The decision to expand the No Parking area will allow for additional signage and increased enforcement; as the County, Forest Service, City of Sedona, and emergency agencies work on other related solutions to the parking issues.
