PVPD refutes online rumors about supposed right-turn law

February 1, 2024

PVPD says an online rumor about a change to traffic laws regarding right turns is false.

Community members have reported seeing a viral social media post about a supposed new law prohibiting right turns on a red light. The police department says there is no such law; and unless there is a sign specifically prohibiting it, drivers can still stop at a red light, then turn right once it is safe to do so.
