Prescott Fire and CAFMA have upgraded their residential burn permit system.
The new system allows customers to apply for a permit in-person or online, at prescottarea.burnpermits.com. Permits can then be activated or deactivated online or over the phone.
The new software will help dispatchers and firefighters see where permitted burns are taking place, reducing responses to false alarms. It will also inform residents when burning is not allowed, or when conditions change in their area.
