Copper Canyon FMD respond to smoke at Camp Verde hotel

Copper Canyon Fire and Medical and Verde Valley Fire crews responded to reports of smoke at a Camp Verde hotel Thursday.
According to Copper Canyon, the first crews to arrive at the Comfort Inn began safely evacuating all the occupants; and determined that the smoke was coming from an elevator shaft. They secured the elevator’s electrical equipment and cleared the rest of the building; and investigators are still looking into the exact cause of the smoke.
