A DPS helicopter lifts an injured patient from the side of a mountain

February 22, 2024

Sedona Fire crews and a DPS Ranger helicopter assisted an injured mountain biker on the Hiline Trail Wednesday afternoon.

According to SFD Division Chief Dori Booth, the patient sustained a lower-body injury; and due to the location on the trail, responders determined they would need to be short-hauled from the site. A DPS helicopter crew responded and lifted the patient from the trail, then flew them to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment.
