Four Yavapai and Coconino County fire agencies recently received grant funding from the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, to support wildland firefighting efforts.

The Department’s Rural Fire Capacity program provides local agencies in small communities, whose personnel are mostly volunteers, with critical funding for personal protective equipment, fire shelters, hand tools, communications equipment and training needs.

Local recipients include the Williams and Walker Fire Departments and the Mormon Lake and Crown King Fire Districts.
