A Cottonwood man faces charges including criminal damage and resisting arrest after a dispute with his neighbor last Saturday evening.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office says they received a report that a resident of Mission Lane had become aggressive with a neighbor and threw a wooden pallet onto his neighbor’s parked car.

When deputies arrived, the suspect was reportedly verbally aggressive towards them, ignoring commands to comply. At one point he walked toward a deputy and shined a flashlight in his eyes, but then retreated and barricaded himself in his home.

Choosing not to escalate the situation, the majority of YCSO and Cottonwood Police personnel at the scene left, and the suspect then came back outside and was taken into custody by two remaining deputies.
