Coconino NF responds to wildfire east of Flagstaff

The Walnut Fire burns on the Coconino NF east of Flagstaff

Coconino National Forest crews responded to a wildfire near I-40, east of Flagstaff on Wednesday.


The Walnut Fire was discovered around 11:00 a.m., and was initially estimated at about 2 acres. Multiple fire engines and crews responded; and investigators are looking into how the fire started.
