The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office has released more details about the shooting incident in Doney Park that left one person dead and sent another to the hospital last Thursday night.

According to CCSO, several people were at a small party on Bryant Road when two of them got into an argument. One man, David Navela, was asked to leave, and he did, but he came back with a gun. Navela reportedly shot one person, then followed two others who tried to hide in a bedroom. A struggle over the gun ensued, and Navela was shot.

He died at the scene, and the initial victim was treated at the hospital and released later that same evening.

The Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information about this incident, who has not already spoken with investigators, contact CCSO at 928-774-4523.
