Two more local communities will receive federal funding for water infrastructure projects.

The Town of Camp Verde was awarded a $2 million grant to construct and install an arsenic removal system at their Mongini well, in the northwest part of town, and a smaller system at the Verde River Estates tank. Town officials say the Mongini well serves the majority of their water customers, and rising pumping rates in recent years, due to local growth, have led to increased arsenic levels.

And the Town of Clarkdale will receive $1 million in Congressionally Directed Spending to fund the design for a third town well, water storage and an arsenic treatment plan.
